Have been really busy to update anything. It's the final mad sprint towards the end of semester again...

On my 2nd essay (Asian Studies):
What issues have caused strains in Australia's relationship with Indonesia? Is cultural misunderstanding mainly to blame?

2500 words. Hoping to finish it by Tuesday, or at latest Wednesday.

On other stuff:
- Read that St. Barnaby's church in Sydney got razed to the ground on Weds or Thurs morning, and it's the place where OCF Sydney meets up for their public meetings etc. We in OCF Perth are praying for you all and the congregation.
- And miraculously, the 2 blokes got rescued from their underground cage in Beaconsfield after 2 weeks being trapped. The party was tempered (somewhat) by the death of one miner, but yeah, it really brought the entire nation together in the final moments of the rescue, with live feeds on Channel 7, 9 continuously.
- Singapore General Elections. So, PAP won 82 out of 84 seats again. But if you look closer, their popular vote has dropped from 78% or so in 2001 to 66.6% this time round. Notice how when u read Channel News Asia, they don't do any comparisons to the result in 2001. Also note in some constituencies, the PAP sort of barely scrapped past - esp. in Aljunied where the WP got an impressive 44% of the vote. For PM Lee to say, "But you can't say 56% is low for Aljunied! I mean, in other Western democracies like Australia, UK and the likes... even 52.7% (the result for the Liberal coalition in the two-party preferred vote) is a massive victory to form a government". Now, the point is, it's always been like that in Australia. Elections are tight events which might go any way here. Well, sort of. But the general argument I'd like to make is that, I'm encouraged by the gains the opposition made this time round. And btw, it's a bit childish for the government (read: PAP) to detain James Gomez after the election results. Oh, it was really the Elections Department which made the complaint??
- Results: 4 / 5 for the 8th online quiz (HIST 2246), 73% for the POLS 2214 essay... that's 20% of the unit. A bit disappointing actually. But there are more important things to worry about!!

Take care & God bless,
