I totally deplore the actions of Yim Pek Ha, the housewife who burned her Indonesian maid (Nirmala Bonat, 19) with hot water and an iron. It's like, the poor maid's photos were splashed all over on the front pages of all the Malaysian newspapers. Looking at the photos really makes one sick to the core k. She had burns and bruises on almost every part of her body. Here we have a girl who is only around our age, coming over to a foreign land hoping to make more money and is now scarred for life, physically, emotionally, psychologically.
Whatever happened to humanity?
I hope this housewife receives the maximum 67 years in prison (the prosecutors are pushing for that) for her henious crime. Totally ghastly.
Besides that, we've got 2 more ongoing murder trials in that are garnering much public interest over here:-
1) Murder of Noritta Samsudin. Now, people (from housewives to Religious Department officials) are following this trial closely because apparently she died while having sex. Day in day out, the questions asked during cross-examinations are like these:-
Q: Bondage sex is a form of sexual perversion, correct?
A: Yes.
Q: For this type of sex, the hands would be tied behind and both feet would be tied together, correct?
A: Yes.
Q: This is to create a state of helplessness and those who engage in this type of sex get higher sexual satisfaction?
A: Yes.
Q: You agree that sexual asphyxia (to deprive someone of oxygen so that she'll be more excited) is not recognised as a cause of death in post mortem according to protocol laid down by the WHO?
A: Yes.
Aye. basically u get it lah. lots of people are following the trial cos of the details involved.. and ppl are kind of taken aback that this involves a Malay woman, who are supposed to be more conservative than their non-Malay counterparts. The Religious Department is watching this case becuase further charges may be pressed against some witnesses who are guilty of co-habitaion (from their testimonials), which is a crime under Syariah law.
2) Murder and rape of Canny Ong. The prosecution team just finished their case yesterday I think.. this case is particularly interesting because of the number of question marks involved.
Qn mark 1: After the accused abducted her from the underground carpark at Bangsar Shopping Complex, he drove her to an isolated road. This was where they were stopped by a policeman who asked for their identity cards. He gave the officer their ICs, and as he was verifying their identities, the accused sped off with Canny in the car. The big qn in everyone's minds are: Why didn't Canny ask for help when the policeman stopped them? And when the accused sped off w/o taking back their ICs, why wasn't the suspicions of the officer aroused??
Qn mark 2: So apparently they continued driving.. and the car tyre punctured. The accused then approached a passerby to help him fix the tyre. At this point, she could have escaped. Why didn't she??
blah. going to genting tmrw. but it's like drive up, drop grandmother and auntie there, drive back. so boring hoh. but at least i'll get my chance at the wheel, so pray nth bad happens k?
