12 April 2004

12.4.04 - so it's back to work today.. for this week, it's at the m'sian private primary school i'm at, working on their library.. but only worked for half day.. cos i had to go to SMU to hand in my supporting documents. as usual, i was counting on mee hwey to send me to the bus station cos', well, she always does! but this time, it wasn't possible cos after being transferred from the secondary school to m'sian pte primary school, she can't leave during lunch everyday.. little kids more vulnerable. need more adults to look after.. so i had to make my way to the bus station alone. n my school isn't like quite central, as in, very few bus stops.. so i had to walk like 1km (on the main seaside road, which has no pavements), to the nearest bus stop.. and after rotting at the bus stop for like 5 minutes, this malay uncle came asked me if he could alert him when his bus (331, heading to University) came along.. cos the signs on JB buses are small and u really have to jump out on the road and flag down the bus with every part of your body .. haha cos they normally don't stop if it's an isolated bus stop.. yeah, so when my bus came first, i didn't board it cos i had to help him look out for his bus mah.. see i'm a good boy k. when our bus finally came, it was like (not to my horror, but it's expected for a typical JB public bus), like an oven... sweltering hot. and there's a big sign in front of the bus door that screams "AIR-COND". how apt huh. and you can actually smell rotting oranges all over the bus.. and well, what you smell is what you see.. cos when i went to the back of the bus, there was a rubbish bin (which obviously hasn't been cleared for like forever) with (wad else?) rotting oranges in it..

Anyway, to cut a long story short. I reached newton 45 minutes late.. was supposed to meet xy to submit our application to smu together.. to think i can take 2 hours to get to singapore (with jam, unfriendly immigration officers scrutinising my passport as if i'm some long-lost relative of osama)... and submitting the form only takes 3 minutes. heh. went to the sakae sushi at bugis for dinner.. and watched the passion of christ. i say, it's a gd movie. and yah i cried. not at the parts where jesus was flogged.. not the bloody scenes. but when the scenes where the lord talks about what he stands for: "truth, love your enemies, that He died for our sins, that we can be free again, be unshackled from our crimes..." and yah, when the snake appeared at the start of the show.. i closed my eyes lah. never can stand those creatures. but it's really hard to be objective when sth is about your religion or country or wadever. xy thot it was ok. which well i'd prob agree if i'm judging the movie for it's own sake.

Right. I'm so darn tired now. what else to say? oh i bought MLTR's 19 love ballads... i'm like wondering how come there's another "greatest hits collection" that they have? thot the only one is the brown copy which i bought in 1998... anyway, they've got some "new" (ok, some are not that new, from their 2000 album..) songs which their previous greatest hits don't have.. like Blue Night (which i really like), I'm Gonna Be Around.. =)
